Ricky Carroll’s International Mangrove Day Celebration & Fundraiser!
DATELINE — 6/22/2018, R&D Surf Inc. 488 Gus Hipp Blvd, Rockledge, FL 32955. Award winning & world renowned surfboard shaper Ricky Carroll teams with The Marine Resources Council (MRC) in celebration of International Mangrove Day, to help raise awareness and funds to save the Indian River Lagoon Thursday, July 26th (5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.). The event highlights a bodacious menu from Dusty Joe’s Smokin Eats, while stacking up perfect sound waves, featuring Ricky Carroll himself on the drums with both the Karalyn & the Dawn Patrol band and the Lady & the Tramps band. Be sure not to get wiped out on your old surfboard and bring it with you to sell, trade, or giveaway to a grom at the sunset board swap. VIPs will have the chance to get fully barreled in a tour of the R&D surfboard factory. The MRC team will totally be on hand to answer all your rad mangrove & lagoon questions. Barter your old board to a surfer, don’t barrel it to the landfill! Surfers are welcome to buy, sell or swap old boards at the event. Local Vendor, Art & Gift Booths Main Stage MRC Mangrove Talk (6 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.) Please join the Marine Resources Council, for an update on the importance of mangroves in the Indian River Lagoon and the regulations in place to protect them. This event is great for lagoon residents to learn how to manage their mangroves or potentially restore their shorelines. Adopt a Mangrove and join the MRC Mangrove Team! At this event you can register to learn how to grow mangroves at your home, for MRC's future shoreline restoration projects.
