Event Story: Saxophonist and Brevard favorite Dan Wilborn will be performing with guitarist Ryan Waszmer, Dexter Wilborn on bass, Matt Mill on trumpet, and Ashton Bailey-Gould on drums. Dan Wilborn plays alto, tenor, soprano sax and the flute. He has performed at many venues and high profile shows, including groups such as the Puzzlers, Equator, The Rainmakerz, the Space Coast Big Band and many performances for the radio station, WGRV The Groove. He has also performed at a Democratic Presidential rally for VP elect Joe Biden, live on WFIT radio, at the Melbourne Art Festival, the Foosaner Art Museum and many other local and state events such as the Suwanee Music Festival. Dan lives in Melbourne Beach, FL. Guitarist Ryan Waszmer majored in jazz studies at the University of Central Florida and was the lead guitarist for Jeff Rupert’s Flying Horse Big Band. He has performed with notable musicians such as Richard Drexler, Larry Coryell, Marty Morell and other jazz luminaries now residing in Florida and has played at jazz festivals throughout the state and at the renowned Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. He performs with several groups locally and leads his own trio. Dexter Wilborn has also mastered the sax, but will support Wilborn senior on bass. Dexter has performed in many Brevard venues with a diverse group of musicians and bands from rock to gospel to jazz. Currently, he plays with the University of Florida Gospel Choir where he is a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology. Ashton Bailey-Gould is a freelance musician who currently attends Eastern Florida College. He is a sought after drummer who plays with many groups and at many venues, including the Henegar Center, Heidi’s Jazz Club and the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts in Orlando. Matt Mill studied jazz at the University of South Florida. He often works at Disney venues and plays with local groups such as the Orlando Jazz Orchestra, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and others. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC – general admission tickets can be purchased online below or paid at the door: – $10 for members of the Jazz Society and Rockledge Country Club, – $15 for guests, – Students (ages 25 & under) are free.
