| Event Title: "Jazz in Space", Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing Event Story: This is a free concert by Swingtime. This is a Not-In-The-Park-Concert. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the music in the air-conditioned auditorium. No alcoholic beverages are permitted at the concert.
Swingtime, an ensemble of the Melbourne Municipal Band, also presents dances featuring jazz and Big Band standards. Swingtime's dances have long been a favorite of local dancers and jazz lovers looking for a reasonably priced, toe-tapping evening. This 20-piece band is directed by Art Martin, a tenor and baritone saxophonist. Art has performed with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Dizzy Gillespie, and The Platters, to name just a few. | ||
